We recently had the opportunity to spend a few days driving the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid all around the Chicagoland area and let me tell you, it is the perfect vehicle for exploring.

While we are not new to the Hyundai family being a previous owner of a Santa Fe and a current owner of an Elantra, we are newbies when it comes to hybrids. After a few days of driving one around, we are officially hooked!
The all-purpose hybrid SUV maximizes fuel efficiency and with rising gas prices, getting more bang for your buck is much appreciated.
So what is a hybrid and how does it work? The 4-cylinder engine and electric motor work interchangeably, and its system utilizes regenerative braking.
The brakes convert kinetic energy into electricity which recharges the battery. How cool is that?
The result is less fuel usage which increases gas mileage. At lower speeds, we found the Tucson Hybrid can achieve up to 38 combined miles per gallon without having to plug in since it’s not all-electric.
Having just come back from a cross-country road trip, all we could talk about was how great the 2022 Tucson Hybrid would be on the road.
With 146.7 cubic feet of interior space, the Tucson is super roomy and comfortable with plenty of wiggle room.
No need to worry about packing light either. The cargo area is spacious, easy to load, and has a retractable cover for shade and to hide valuables.
The back seats also fold down making even more room for bigger items like folding bikes or kayaks.
Another feature we fully enjoyed is the vented seats which came in handy on our 90-degree days.
Next, let’s talk design! The SUV is not only stylish on the outside – with three available trims – but the interior has a sophisticated and modern feel to it as well.
This is a hybrid that knows how to have fun! It was so exciting trying out all the cutting-edge safety and technology features.
For starters, the 10.5-inch touch-screen navigation is easy to operate and makes navigating a cinch.
The front and back sensors and surround cameras give a bird’s-eye view overhead making parking painless.
Then there’s the blind-spot view monitor. It opens on the dash when you click on your turn signal making it super helpful to see other vehicles when changing lanes.
The 2022 Tucson Hybrid offers a unique blend of luxury, functionality, reliability, and comfort all at an affordable price.
The Hyundai brand has impressed us with dependability and quality for over 15 years, and it looks like that sentiment will continue well into the future.
